The fact that these speakers don't require their own power makes them quite convenient. One of the only detractors to consider when looking at them is the lack of volume and bass. Rating the sound quality can a bit tough---it really depends what standard they are held to. They are awesome for the price, when used for portable devices; however, if used for a desktop, or anything stationery, they're not likely to blow you away.
They are recommendable overall.

I use these in the shower, with my iPod. That's it. I just plug them into the iPod and voila, it works. No power cord needed. The volume level is perfectly adequate for the bathroom, but it probably would be too muted for say, a living room. If you want nice set of stereo speakers for a larger room or the patio, these are not going to cut it.

Audio quality is not very good, as these speakers absolutely crush the sound. They basically sound like so-so laptop speakers. Honestly, the sound quality from the speaker on my iPhone is better. (However, these are a bit louder than the iPhone, which is why I bought them)

The reason I gave these 4 stars is because they are insanely cheap. If you just need a simple pair of speakers for the bathroom, garage, etc, then I highly recommend these. If you want to really listen to your music, or play music outdoors, I would suggest you find a pair in the $50-100 range.

I take these speakers everywhere with me, I have an older pair and they are still going strong after being with me through six years of college/art school, been on many trips(great for camping] and have suffered many drops and been splashed with a variety of materials (water, plaster, clay, paint, beer].

Good not perfect sound quality, nice and loud for size, really heavy bass can get fuzzy but only at the highest volumes. No batteries or ac adapter required! Very very portable (throw them in my bike basket]. Did I mention? No batteries or ac adapter required! Doesn't drain your ipod battery life any more than regular use.

These are great speakers for the money, if you need something on the go and don't want to have to worry about bringing batteries or find an outlet. This was one of the best purchases I have ever made and all of my friends ask me where they can get them. I recently bought my roommate a set for her birthday along with another for myself whenever the old pair dies... if they ever die... still beating them up...

Cute and teenage-looking. These were bigger than I expected them to be. Like the size of tennis balls all the way round. I was thinking they'd be at least an inch smaller in diameter than that. Decided to gift them to a teenager I know and so didn't open them and therefore have no opinion on their sound quality.

Not loud and very scratchy! No louder than my laptop speakers. Not worth it.
