  1. I have used this mount on both road and dual-sport bikes, dishing out numerous cycles of on-road vibrations and off-road pounding. This unit is surprisingly tough but has a two flaws:

    (1) The physical locking of the GPS unit into the mount is not as heavy duty as the Touratech mounts and the ability to hold the unit is eventually gone.

    (2) The electrical contacts on both the mount and the GPS unit wear out and become intermittent.

Considering what I have put this mount through in terms of weather, vibration, and pure physical off-road banging around I’d say it is well worth the price.

  2. This mount works very well. I’ve tested it on rough gravel roads and it’s holding up well. Figuring it out how it installs takes a minute or two but once you have everything lined up it goes right on. Took me less than 30 minutes to wire it up on the RAM mount (which you need).

  3. This mount works well. A sliding snap on the side securely holds the GPS unit to the mount. It does take a 3rd party mounting bracket (I used one from RAM which provides very sturdy mounts). I am concerned about possible corrosion in the future, as the electrical contacts are not watertight, but will worry about that when the time comes. I found the mount on-line for about $55 and would recommend it to anyone.

  4. When I got it I was very surprised at the thickness of the item. When you add it to your own mount (since it doesn’t include a way to mount to the bike), it becomes a huge bulky item. Apparently they have some electronics in the bracket. I returned mine unused. I will just find a 12 volt outlet to mount on the bike and use the speaker/power plug that came with my Quest.

  5. Although a nice idea and the product seems to be well put together it would be nice if there was an explanation in the description that the full ability to mount this to a motorcycle is not included in the kit. Seems you need to seek out a universal bracket from an unknown location in order to use what you purchased…
